50!

Macroselfian 的 members 終於有50個人了. 雖然這段時間流量有超少, 也有還好少. 也有想過要停到, 回到原來的 msn space. 不過當看到有人留言說很有幫助的時候, 就是弄下去的動力

Jeff, I'll post about Cartesius soon, just quite busy at work at the moment. Anyway Cartesius is a really good point to study Western philosophy because he started a very significant period in European culture called sometimes cartesianism with two important points in my opinion: scientific (mathematic) method and mind-body dualism. This period started to collapse with Hegel, Nietzsche and Heidegger, culminating in Derrida. But still is alive. I think it's very specific to the West.

Hi Jeff!
Yes, along with Master of Science I desired Master of Arts ;) The first is computer science/IT, the second is philosophy (I hope to graduate in a year). The first is my work, the second is my hobby. The first gives me money, the second allows spend it (extramural studies are paid in Krakow). Like a harmony of two substances ;)
Some people claim Eastern and Western philosophy are profoundly different, but that is not my own stance. My Master Thesis is about some similarities of Martin Heidegger's later philosophy (海德格尔) and the philosophy of taoism and chan/zen Buddhism. Heidegger seems to turn to the sources (before Socrates), to interpret and re-think it in his own way. That means to take things as they are and not to put them into metaphysical enframing and leads - in my, and not only my, opinion to such kind of thinking like taoism.
Anyway, I can write something about Greek philosophers (or later philosophers such as Cartesius, Leibniz, Spinoza, Kant, Hegel, Husserl etc.) but it needs a lot time on the one hand and there are many good sources about it so far, so I really don't have to write it again ;)
If you said me what might be the most interesting for you I could write something... Is it a summary of Greek philosophy at first?

yeah, i did read about the magic cards game theory stuff.

if you are interested in those kinda stuff, you should just take AI from school, it will cover most of the topic you are interested in; complex analysis, Beysian network, neuro network... all those crap. at the end of it, all those does not really work. why? because in order to have them work perfectly, you need to have your system have all the parameter worked perfectly. and how do you determined the %, the exact threshold value of anything that is useful? for the most part, you need to build and test the whole model to get things right; in some case, you are rigging the system to see what you want to see. which brings to another point, in a open system, you are introduced to various of new parameter, and that hugely hinder the system performance. so before you have a real useful system working, you need to figure out a way that the system can take in new variables, and effectly measure it so that it can work within the system with minimal testing and integrating.
